This suspension bridge was built between 1829 1nd 1832 over the River Thames to replace an old wooden bridge that had been here since the early 13th century. It was designed by Tierney Clark. The weight restriction on the bridge is 3 tonnes, meaning that vans and lorries cannot use it.
